Science came to life at Southern Heights!
A huge thank you to Eurenco for spending time with our students and providing them with a hands-on science experience. Students learned about atoms, reactions, and how different materials interact, then had the opportunity to see those concepts in action through experiments and demonstrations.
It’s one thing to learn about science in the classroom, but getting to see it happen right in front of you makes the learning that much more meaningful.

Continuing our Literacy at Home series, we’re catching up with our first grade families! Building strong readers doesn’t stop when the school day ends. Reading together, talking about stories, asking questions, and practicing new words at home all help strengthen the skills students are building in the classroom. This was one of those days that reminds us why Southern Heights is such a special place.
Today, we celebrated our 5th graders as they completed their final year at Southern Heights Elementary and prepared for the next chapter of their journey. We were honored to have families join us for this special occasion and would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our guest speaker, Jocelyn Gonzalez, a former Southern Heights student and the Class of 2026 Salutatorian. Her message served as a powerful reminder of what our students can accomplish through hard work, determination, and believing in themselves.
A special thank you goes to one of our generous Southern Heights families for providing the delicious meal that helped make the celebration even more memorable.
We would also like to thank our SPOT team, teachers, staff, photographer, and everyone who helped plan, organize, decorate, serve, and support today’s promotion ceremony. Your time, effort, and dedication helped create a meaningful day for our students and their families.
To the Class of 2026, congratulations. We are proud of the growth you have shown, the memories you have created, and the legacy you leave behind at Southern Heights.
